"What a lovely day!"
Those four little words were on many peoples' lips as John and Sue celebrated their Ruby Wedding Anniversary.
Surrounded by their family and their many friends from the Church, John and Sue had a busy day ahead of them...
Their day began with a Thanksgiving for Marriage service at St Thomas' Church, led by retired Archdeacon Peter Coombs, who produced an entertaining and thought provoking sermon that resulted in the presentation of a cushion inscribed 'Live well... Laugh often... Love much'.
But there was no time to sit on a cushion - this was a hectic and exciting day!
Almost 100 people enjoyed an excellent lunch at St Nicholas Church Centre - thanks are due to Carole, Pam and their team of helpers for a simply delightful lunch - generous portions, piping hot, washed down with good wine and good company.
But that wasn't the end of it - the celebrations continued - John and Sue had more presents to unwrap, and family friend Ian Rodgers took the floor to reveal how the couple had met, married and begun their life in Ministry together.
We're all looking forward to their Golden Wedding Bash next!
