Additions to our website - 2011
December

- Thought for the Christmas period...
"This very day in King David's hometown a Saviour was born for you. He
is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2.11).
The angels announced the news on a windswept hill to an astonished group
of shepherds. They responded by hurrying to worship the child. It is also
'good news' for us in Bedhampton as we draw to the end of 2011 and look forward
to 2012. May we respond as the shepherds did 2000 years ago and fall down
and worship Jesus as our Lord and Saviour!
Have a joyful Christmas and a grace filled 2012!
David - Rector of Bedhampton

August
- All of us here in Bedhampton are shocked and appalled by the looting
and civil unrest that is spilling out onto the streets at night in many
of our larger cities. The power of prayer in such dark times cannot be
overlooked - you might wish to join us in the prayer below...
The Church of England has published A Prayer for Peace in Our Communities
online.
It reads:
Gracious God,
We pray for peace in our communities this day.
We commit to you all who work for peace and an end to tensions,
And those who work to uphold law and justice.
We pray for an end to fear,
For comfort and support to those who suffer.
For calm in our streets and cities,
That people may go about their lives in safety and peace.
In your mercy, hear our prayers,
now and always. Amen
Please visit the Church
of England webpage for more

April
- What does Easter mean to you?
- A few days off work?
- Chocolate?
- A chance to get organised for the summer?
- A chance to shake off the winter blues and start the diet that
you meant to start for Lent?
Our Rector, David Proud, reminds us there's a much deeper life-changing
experience on offer...
If we need any excuse to ‘let our hair down’ then
Easter Day provides it.
A grieving and dispirited group of Jesus's friends trudged to the tomb to
place spices on a dead body. They returned dancing and shouting with the
sheer joy of knowing that Jesus was alive. There are days of sober reflection
and serious work but today is not one of them.
Easter Day, of all days should be the biggest party of the year.
‘ He is risen from the dead!’ Alleluia!.
Have a wonderful Easter!
- As from 1st May the Sunday morning service at St Thomas’ will
