We
celebrated our very first half century here at St Nicholas with a set of
varied Special Events from 31st May to 7th June. We teamed up with Lee Abbey Community and NGM Thornbury (who produced the Luv Esther musical) to stage an exciting week of events to commemorate the first fifty years os St Nicholas Church Centre.
Sunday 31st MayThe week opened with an Anniversary Celebration Service at St Nicholas at 10:30am, with guest speaker the Venerable Peter Coombs, pictured here
At 4pm there was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy food, friendship
and a chance to look back over 50 years, here in Bedhampton. About
150 people (including some from quite a distance away!) had a chance to
meet with old friends and make new ones.

| On show was a fascinating display of old photographs and a look back at life in Bedhampton. |
The afternoon concluded with a short service at 6:30pm.
TuesdayThere was a well-supported lunch, made all the more enjoyable with some Old Time Entertainment.
WednesdayA packed coach set off from St Nicholas, bound for Exbury Gardens on one of the nicest days of the year. For many, the highlight of the visit was a trip on the train round the gardens, especially for our Rector, seen here in the hot seat!
Many of the Lee Abbey team visited local schools, partly to present drama and partly to advertise the many events happening on Saturday...

At the end of the week we held three events...
In the morning there was a Drama Workshop at St Nicholas
Starting at noon, there was a Family Fun Day for all ages on Bidbury Mead, with a marquee, a barbecue, events, games and competitions.
