Bedhampton Parish

Our New Rector

28 Jan 2018 • General news

We are delighted to tell you that a new Rector has been appointed for our Parish.

Our Archdeacon, Joanne Grenfell, has issued the following statement...

"The Bishop has appointed the Revd Max Cross, currently assistant curate of St Mary Magdalen Sheet to be the next Rector of St Thomas and St Nicholas Bedhampton. A date for Max’s collation as Rector after Easter will be announced soon."

(That date has subsequently been confirmed as April 25th 2018)

Max spent twenty years as a self-employed IT Project Manager, working for major organisations like the Bank of England, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Virgin Atlantic. He is married to Suzy and they have three adult children. For many years the whole family were members of the Church of the Good Shepherd (CoGS) at Crookhorn, where Max played a major part in their ministry to young people. It was there that he began to sense God’s call to church leadership and in 2014 he was ordained to a curacy in the parish of Sheet (near Petersfield).
