Our Christingle Service

In aid of the Children's Society

Each year, on one of the Sundays in December, we hold our annual Christingle Service in aid of the Children's Society. The service is for all ages and we hold it in the early evening so that youngsters are able to come and enjoy this special occasion.

If you've been to a Christingle Service already, you'll know what a Christingle is - a decorated orange - and you'll know that the orange symbolises our world, with a red ribbon around it to represent the blood of Christ. The candle atop it represents Jesus, the light of the world, and the assorted fruits or sweets represent God's creation.

If you've not been to a Christingle Service, then don't worry - you don't have to bring one! Indeed, you'll go home with one. Each year, our Christingles are made by one of our Youth Groups.

The collection at our Christingle Service is given to the Children's Society.
